This old heron has perched within Golden Gardens pond for many years. Like a sentinel, he will watch for fish and also eye you as you walked by. Recently, he found a rock along the coast he seemed to prefer but, if you're lucky, you'll find him here when it's quiet. His feathers are now longer than shown in this painting. He's still living a generous life.
